Spinach Cheese Tikki

A sunday snack that got made in 20 mins and by evening i am posting it as well. Started with 'I won't eat Palak(Spinach) on a sunday" which i had to turn tasty yet healthy. This snack is truly a lite, crunchy, almost oil free. The only rich factor is the parmesan cheese i used, which one can afford to miss. The taste is not altered much if the cheese is not used.

Spinach - 1 bundle or 400 gram
     Chilli powder - 1tsp
     Salt - to taste
     Garam masala (optional) - 1/2 tsp
     Brown bread - 4
     Garlic - 3 pods
     Onion - 1
     Parmesan cheese - 50 grams
     Olive Oil - 1tsp

Boil the spinach for 3 minutes, drain. In a pan add 1 tsp of olive or any oil; add the chopped garlic and onion. Sauté till the raw smell is gone and add the chilli powder, garam masala and little salt. Mash the boiled spinach with brown bread and the sautéed mixture. Mix them together and roll and flatten them. Fill the center with the grated cheese, close into a ball and flatten them into tikki. I toasted them on a flat toaster without any oil. They can in be baked in an oven or can be shallow fried in a pan. Serve it hot with tangy tamarind chutney or mint chutney.
